My Christmas Gifts

My children live quite far away,

the U.S. mail is Santa’s sleigh.

It’s been the same for many years

and happily brings smiles and tears.

I send a check to let them choose

to buy a want, or ills defuse.

A card,  made by my wife and me,

is filled with love and poetry.

We send the same to all our friends...

without a check. just our love wends.
