The Laureate-Tonight's Midnight

Tonight’s Midnight

When the ball drops at midnight,
it brings another year.
When you raise your glass tonight
remember it does not quell fear.
It just starts another day...
pray your kiss keeps your love near!

The Laureate-New Year's Eve Toast

New Year’s Eve Toast

I will welcome 2020
but pray the babe that’s new
will be better parented,
and those this year are through.

Who tended babe and planet
made very big mistakes.
They argued all the time,
and now our whole world shakes.

To teach the baby what is right,
let’s practice peace from day of birth,
and let him share the value of
how much Man’s peace is worth.

The Laureate-Trump's Gobbledlygook Award

Trump’s Gobbledygook Award

From the world’s biggest liar
to the world’s loudest crier,
Trump should get an award
for his gobbledygook entire.

The Laureate-As The Don Breaks

As the Don Breaks

Trump tends to brag about the DOW...
says it is highest ever now.
It aids the rich,
yet poor still bitch...
he’s morphed every Christian vow.
{The Don breaks, and he forsakes!}

The Laureate-The You Year!

The You Year!

What to deep six, or follow through...
when red or blue attack your hue,
but now must choose
to render bruise,
to those that lie to deceive you.
{It matters not what their lies begot...
it matters but what you sense in gut.}.

The Laureate-Polar Melt Fini {7}

Polar Melt Fini {7}

The Polar poems to waken pols
were mostly planned to bare their scowls...
not aimed at me,
but Trump you see,
for his ripostes... now branded fouls.

The Laureate-Polar Melt {6}

Polar Melt {6}

Carbon must be our biggest foe
but find it has a deadly bro.
Plastics can take a thousand years
to know what microplastics stow.

It’s in our salt and ocean fish...
it could be spice on your dish.
We must not wait to learn our fate...
best sequester and abolish.
   { Pols: Now you best take on these two...
before things really go askew!}

The Laureate-Polar Melt {5}

Polar Melt {5}

Hydrocarbons form our plastic...
from water pails to a chopstick.
It fills our oceans, lakes and streams
and pols must best do something quick.
{When they deemed to pass a law,
they chose to blame the lowly straw.}

The Laureate-Polar Melt {4}

Polar Melt {4}

Greenhouse gases absorb sun’s rays,
a blanket forms and weather faze.
Hence, come the storms and fires from winds...
yet pols just watch as world decays.
{You cannot merely watch...
you’re beyond what fools may botch!}

The Laureate-Polar Melt {3}

Polar Melt {3}

Pols heard the problem o’er the years
but scoffed and said, “Do not waste tears...
the money from coal and natural gas
helps energy quell all your fears.”
{Those words said strong
are now found wrong!}

The Laureate-Polar Melt {2}

Polar Melt {2}

What is happening in the sea
on land and air...Man is guilty!
Flora and fauna already die
and humankind now lags blindly.
(We must form a useful plan,
or this may be the end of Man.)

The Laureate-Impeachment 121819

The Impeachment 121819

The RNC says there’s no proof
that the Prez has broken the law...
and, I guess, therein lies truth,
while Dem witnesses they stonewall!
{An oath cannot be modified
for God cannot be set aside!}

The Laureate-The Polar Melt

The Polar Melt

It is time that our pols awake
and take the controls for Man’s sake.
The ocean’s rise just lessens land,
but as it heats less fish at hand.
{Men get mumbly when hungry!}

The Laureate-Fifteen Thousand Trump Lies

Fifteen Thousand Trump Lies

O’er fifteen thousand lies Trump’s told...
red pols and base on him still sold.
If they don’t know what is fake news,
they have been bilked a thousandfold.
{They are enrapt by Trump’s hoodoos.}

The Laureate-Moscow Mitch and Trump

Moscow Mitch and Trump

Seems Moscow Mitch and Trump are one,
and both could be a Putin son.
Putin is their puppet master,
and that trio bodes disaster.
{Best we keep an open eye
for the danger is getting nigh.}

God oft plies Chi’s brakes.

The Laureate-Impeachment 121219

Impeachment

After over seventy days,
I am by red pols quite amazed.
When they say witnesses are wrong...
I guess by facts they are not fazed.

Over and over red pols say
that what Trump says all must obey.
Trump never, ever makes mistakes...
that we can’t always flush away.
{Soon voter’s hours will test your powers!}

The Laureate-Trump 121119

Trump

As Dems impeach, Trump tweets angry
malice he calls diplomacy.
Red pols and base
should sense disgrace,
but comfort him and just ante.
{You flip your coin high in the air...
but all may lose if Trump’s still there!}

The Laureate-Impeachment Articles

Impeachment Articles

Dems let Trump off easy...
they only cited two.
His crimes encompass more
from voter’s point of view.

He failed his pledge to drain the swamp...
replaced the crocs with all his crooks.
He cajoled money for a wall,
and Congress let him cook their books.
He pledged to all he’d keep them safe...
then decreased rules that sheltered us.
He’s angered good friends in NATO,
but to Putin rare makes a fuss.
{Consider to add what I’ve said
and applause may be widespread.}

The Laureate-Impeachment 12919

Impeachment 12919

The Ship of State is mired in muck
due to red pols rancor anchor.
Trump’s pawns propagate their havoc
until the truth becomes a blur.
{Make all who speak take God's oath,
and throw them out if they are loath!}

The Laureate-A Zen Koan Haiku

Haiku

A Zen Koan (ko.an)
{Conundrum}

but the mind best be at rest
when for answer pressed.

The Laureate-December 7, 1941

December 7, 1941

Though young I still remember
how on that fateful day,
the look of shock in mother’s eyes
said that our world had just turned gray.

Then came the deprivation...
rationing for our army’s needs.
The radio and the cinema
swelled our hearts with their brave deeds.

Resolve and toil helped win that war...
near eighty years our land stands free,
but those who bore that world war
know we must watch foes constantly.

The Laureate-NATO Meeting

NATO Meeting

Trump blustered at the NATO meet.
He must think that he rules the earth.
Normally, friends you don’t browbeat...
best pause to consider their worth.
Trump, when you bluster...foes may muster.}

The Laureate-Impeachment Hearing 12419

Impeachment Hearing

I watched new hearing on TV,
the outcome was the same for me.
Sages deciphered all known facts....
Red’s logic never seems to wax.
For them, the Prez can do no wrong,
and feel Trump’s reign they must prolong.
{Too bad the fools chose a ding-dong.}

The Laureate-Trump Crows...Our Woes.

Trump Crows...Our Woes

Trump brags about stock market highs,
and crows how he made tariffs rise.
But middle class and starving poor
cannot endure on his manure.
{He stirs his pot...but poor left naught!}

The Laureate-GOP Sanity

GOP Sanity

Are red pols just obtuse,
or does Trump so deceive,
that the crimes he has spun
seem blue pol make-believe.

To you, are his lies facts?
If so, you bought his con...
voters should send you now
to donkey-world beyond.
{Don’t abet our world’s threat!}

The Laureate-Earth’s Carbon Cycle

Earth’s Carbon Cycle

Pols, you best heed this earth’s cycle...
or labeled diabolical!
To disregard what you need do,
indicts you for what will ensue.
{And all mankind may you malign.}
