Petitions to leave the Union

Petitions to Leave the Union

People who petition
to sever White House ties
in fact are really saying
their peers can’t bare the lies.

The red and blue have voted
in each and every state.
And something I have noted,
their ballots rarely fluctuate.

They vote the same fools in
who made our home a mess,
which only tells me that
peers do not think...just guess.

The process to pick candidates
to vie for public seats
must change and be more rigorous
ere anyone competes.

Age and birth a sorry gauge...
each post requires a special skill.
Test to prove that their head
is not full of chlorophyll .

...voters, too!

Lebanon's Hesbollah

Lebanon’s Hezbollah

With a semblance of peace
in the Middle East,
we find some bums
now beat their drums,
and din increased by rampant beasts.

Israel and Hamas

Israel and Hamas

Again, the brazen media
must give the news a twist...
after some good people died
and foes pledged to desist.

It deigned to pick the winner...
though both still aim a gun,
and only non-combatants
are those who now have won.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving

For what can I be thankful
when I peruse the news?
Our world is filled with suffering
and terrorism brews.

I’m thankful I’m American,
where freedoms are assured.
I’m thankful for my kith and kin,
whose love o’er time endured.
I’m thankful for my health...
regardless how I ache.
I’m thankful that God grants me life...
but pray it’s no mistake.

Hostess Twinkies

Hostess Twinkies

What is the shelf-life of a twinkie?
I read it’s more than seven years.
If Hostess stocks them and just waits,
they’ll be there when plight disappears.

Global Warming

       Global Warming

Do icebergs thaw from aerosol?
The pundits disagree.
They blame rapacious Man for flaw...
or Nature acting damnably.

We should not care who is the host
as temps around us rise
What matters most is our riposte
anon detoxifies.

The warming is a crisis,
regardless of who caused it all.
Treat the warming and desist
to use the balm that feeds this flaw.

Electoral College

The Electoral College

Seems same states tend to dominate,
when we choose the one to lead
Seems we should note each person’s vote...
and drum that sum unsullied.

To the Prez

To the Prez

Four years have taught us much...
take care to not repeat.
Don’t try again the Midas Touch...
you proved it is effete.

My Peers?

My Peers?
When Congress gets bad grades,
I worry re my peers...
their ballots bring them back,
to err for four more years.

The Vote

The Vote

The race was run.
Obama won.
Now red and blue
must pale their hue...
complete tasks long left undone.
