Primary votes are cast,

and I am quite aghast.

Same fools, I fear, who led us here

Nearly three thousand years ago

Aristotle said to the Greeks,

“Political science pols know

can rarely solve each day’s mystiques.”

 

Now we know the statement is wrong,

pols need but dark money.

For our billionaires always long

to cue them what to them is key.

We often see the latest news

will make our lives much easier.

Then find some genius did abuse

the way to make his brilliance purr.

 

He launched his devise much too fast

to prove his design is harmless.

And found too fast, he was aghast,

because toxins caused bodies stress.

 

There is a lesson in this verse...

lack of testing can be adverse

for toxins are our body’s curse.

 

November is Near

‘Tis time to weigh the toll you’ll pay

when those who will represent you,

without your say, just waste away

what they declare your due.

This time you vote, least try to note,

the ballot that you cast

may float your boat with all you tote

consigned to some half-ass.

The Vote For President 

When young we're forced to trust adults...

for parents and teachers shape results.

But as you age you reach a stage

when you must question all your welts.

 

You must reflect on ev'ry scar,

let each reside in a memoir...

for each has taught its lesson well,

and each now limns why/where you are.

 

Know as you vote for president

may pick as White House resident

the wrong choice boding one more scar,

which o’er four years you will lament.

Survival

There’s not one path to lead the way.

But for the lawful to survive,

the criminals must fear to prey.

They start as lawyers...or like ilk.

They pander votes, then our land milk.

And when the voters throw them out...

as lobbyists resume to bilk.

To The Candidates

If you would be the leading man,

do not but smear the other guy.

I say, respond with Kipling’s plan,

reveal what you deem is awry…

and when and how, with what, and where

you’ll solve the problems you declare.

Pols with dark money

best remember quid pro quo...

others rule the show.

 

Mayhem From Them

They have changed my app.

It’s faster now but useless...

chaos now endless.

 

Politics

My party asks I send them cash

many times throughout the day.

Too many times my teeth must gnash

for I’m retired and must say nay.

 

The money of my retirement

from inflation makes living tough.

The party’s requests make me vent...

after a while I shout, “Enough.”

 

My Vote

I’m an independent...

sincerely vote for red or blue.

GOP laws make evident...

the need to ponder all they do.

 

The Elections

It is hard to find much humor

with elections so very close.

The TV seems to blur

when Red or Blue with  anger flows.

 

I do not know what’s truth or lie,

except by volume of what is said.

I’ve learned to merely give a sigh

and watch some golf instead.

Big Lies by The Don,

that base believes to be true...

their brains minuscule?

 The Stifling Months

July and August have monsoons...

July has patriotic tunes.

August, it seems,

we have but dreams

of end to steamy afternoons.

 

 

The Average

Fifty percent are high

and all the rest are low.

Strange that in Trump’s base

The Don retains the ultra slow.

They accept ,as fact, his Big Lie

and gladly will give him money.

They will believe every con

and give him currency.

{Not only low in average

but much dumber than they seem.}
