                                                                 Blue...

pervades the dawn’s uncluttered sky.

The tinge that taints a lover’s sigh.

The hue within a deep, calm sea.

A mood where peace and pensive vie

Saga of Jim, Chapter 2, Rebel Land

Time must move on...He cannot wait.

One must proceed, confront his fate.

Jim’s dad had left to earn more pay.

To rebel land kin must sashay.

A yank that goes to Tennessee

is not where dad’s kin ought to be.

From The Saga Of Jim, The Saga Begins, {Continued}

“The answer lies within your heart.

Brave knight or whore…you choose the part.

You are fear’s master or his slave.

You take that answer to the grave.”

He taught to box is but one key

that will, from fear, your mind set free.

Judo, boxing, karate are all good tools you can array.

And when this sage was through with him

there was a very altered Jim.

Bubbas came…they always do

but Jim ensured they got their due.

Your Goal {Satori Zen}

You must have a goal.

Plan for full control...

Power foils a foe.

From The Saga Of Jim, The Saga Begins.

Jim met a crippled guru sage

who said, “If you would reach old age,

give them blows that will make them sore

and never again they’ll dark your door.”

“But first, he said, your muscles train.

Your greatest strength you must attain.

and though it’s hard to exercise

to get in shape is very wise.”

      My Indiana Schooling

St. Joan of Arc, St. Andrews, too,

were schools where I was taught and grew.

Catholic priests and nuns were strict...

my daily drub I could predict.

My humor, though much liked by most,

just damned me to their whipping post.

For though I knew most answers well,

I’d often quip and face their hell.

                               Golf

When I played at golf, anger ruined my game.

I seemed to overwhelm my ball...

it seldom landed where I’d aim.

As I aged and my muscles ached,

I gave up on the sport.

But I still watch it on TV

and oft good vodka snort.

Smiles {Satori Zen}

Smiles bring life to strife.

They ease the strain of sadness...

smiles can end the stress.

               The Future

I’ve been raised to love my country

and voted since I was 18.

I fought in Korea in the Navy

to end a war and on Russia lean.

Now there comes a past president

who wants to be our king,

He wants to be like Putin

and take control of everything.

I will not vote for him...

the man knows not but lies.

Trump and his MAGA GOP

are evil in disguise.

Martin Luther King Day

King said don’t judge on hue of skin,

in lieu of what's ensconced within.

If souls be bared to common view,

how few would bid you, “Enter In.”

                                                                  A  Musing

I’ve lived o’er thirty thousand days

...with fervent goal to solve Life’s maze.

Why good men grieve...and curs oft not?

Why bequeathed wealth demands our praise?

Why knowledge gained but questions more?

Why data found confound a score?

Why, oft I pondered life beyond...

and still can’t answer “What’s in store?”

And why, I should be cast to Hell

for shirking what the preachers sell,

when our God knows all  hearts and tongues

...and there resides soul‘s citadel?

Do answers lie in Death’s domain

and rational thought is but inane,

or does God prompt I question all

to reach all heights I can attain?

Fatigue {Zen Satori}

When your path turns wrong.

and you feel no longer strong...

do not long prolong.

The Eight Book Anthology

A friend gave me poetry books to read.

The books are composed of well-known authors,

but many I found that I did not need.

An author can not always write what I like,

and often some poems would leave me cold.

The ancient Greeks were businesslike,

but usually I was not sold.

Letters to the Editor

I read the letters every day.

They tell me how my neighbors feel.

I don’t agree with all they say

but know their comments should be real.

For years, I was with GOP

until they seemed too sly and lie.

Now Independent is for me.

Patience {Satori Haiku}

Patience is a need!

It is vital when you lead...

set pace, then proceed.

God’s Gift

Awaken to the gift from God.

Once again you sense His nod.

If every day you follow His plan,

each day you may stay in His caravan.

                                                                               Each Day

Each day the dawn and sunset vie

to stir those dreams you set awry.

‘Cause with the dawn a new

lot is cast and what’s on hold could vivify.

                           New Year’s Day

We have three hundred and sixty days

to guide our country through the maze.

We must now right the ship of state...

on honesty, let’s concentrate.
