The Laureate-The News

The News

I read and listen every day,
while Red and Blue demand their say.
And I, as independent,
can only for my country pray.

The Laureate-False Facts

The Internet
How many times I've criticized
the phony facts residing there.
Then "60 Minutes" publicized
a perp who said that deed is fair.

The perp, as an attorney,
states falsehoods not a crime,
For they will make their journey
before you prove those facts don't rhyme.

Know near two hundred lawyers
reside in Congress ...make our laws.
Before you elect more voyeurs
check their ethos for such flaws.

The Laureate-Medical Plans

The Red has failed; as has the Blue.
It’s time to join without the hue.
And know for you to reach your goal
let not lobbyists counsel you.

The Laureate-Philosophers

How many a great philosopher
has offered his era’s ethos cure
but curiously,
at least to me,
for centuries same ills endure.

The laureate-Monsters

We seem obsessed by monsters
in Lock Ness, forests, raging seas,
but best we search among us
for parasites where we’re garni.

{Some live within the Internet;
and when exposed...remove the threat. }

The Laureate-St. Patty's Day

St. Patty’s Day

No need to sail to Erin
to meet the people there.
St Patrick’s Day we’re sharin’
same smiles they always wear.
For we are honored Irish
this one day of the year,
and we must toast to all our wish
with liters of green beer.

So let us rise together
and lift and quaff our cups.
Though God knows soon hereafter
 there’s headaches and hiccups.

The Laureate-Congress

You fools have dissed the Middle Class,
and now dis those about to pass.
If you desire another term,
beware of those you tend to spurn.

The Laureate-The Tourney

You start wherein all games begin.
The acts from which the caroms din
reveals  the strength within your soul
that wills for you the deeds to win.

The Laureate-The Middle Class 31217

We strive to be survivors
in life’s eternal game...
where billionaires and all their heirs
seek rest of mankind tame.

Note now our pols strive very hard
to morph with them as one...
and note the laws they often pass
well serve the rich...and our Class none.

The Laureate-Debt

When you agree to take on debt,
take care on just how deep you get.
Each contract is an IOU,
and honor, too, must face roulette.

The Laureate-Dear Prez 3717

When you imply Blues broke the law
by  the man who led them all,
your rant and rave
is very grave,
but proof alone supports such call.

The Laureate-A Change of Pace

If you believe that spirits talk,
then have another drink.
If you believe the dead can walk,
you're dumber than my ex-wife's shrink.
If you believe what our pols say,
you probably would with cobras play.

The Laureate-The Aura Flow

Appraise this sunset and next dawn,
that which is seen...forever gone,
if you don’t heed the aura’s flow
and feel the vibes that spur you on.
