Marriage

A marriage can be fantastic

if neither tries to dominate.

If both try hard when strife is thick

each will listen to their mate.

{Both made a vow when they were wed,

now find a way to face each dread.}

Right to Vote

All legal US citizens

were told they’re free to cast a vote.

There are politicians

we must now name and note.

They want their own party to win.

Most laws they pass bring rest chagrin.

Those acts are illegal,

a Constitution betrayal.

{Those pols must lose their seat

and rebuke should be complete.}

Nature’s Message

Nature’s blowing fast, strong winds.

Punishment for Man’s past sins?

It’s warning us to solve earth’s plight

or Man’s future won’t be bright.

Exercise {Triplet Haiku}

When you exercise

slowly make reps drop and rise...

water too is wise.

Sinuses

I‘ve had sinus problems

for damned near all my life.

They seem to beat the drums

and fill most days with strife.

The rains seem to rouse them,

but AZ needs the rain.

And though they fill my nose with phlegm,

I force a smile and help them drain.

Presidents’ Day

In February, Presidents,

who some felt passed our tests,

have faces on a monument

because their toils impressed.

{There is but four, we hoped for more

but few were found superior.}

Lawyers

Lawyers can’t be re- lie-able...

they must deal with a true fact.

If what they tout is deniable,

demand that their truth must be backed.

(If they cannot, they lose their case,

and judge may bona fides erase.)

Mother Nature

Nature is an awful mother,

frequently does not do things right.

She would not make a decent lover,

too often she just brings us plight.

She gives us rain that cause a flood.

High winds destroy protective trees.

With mental skills she is a dud...

and winter’s freeze will never please.

{It is time that we replace her,

then we can stifle our anger.}

A Valentine’s Thought

Oh Eros, your arrows must fly to her true,

and my passion for her contain.

The first sight she sees as barb breaks through

must will her this ardent swain.

A shaft sent awry, if someone’s nearby,

could send her love off to another.

A gaze at a mirror with someone else near her

and she might just wed her half-brother.

This worry, I think, could drive me to drink…

I have no control where you aim.

The stupid doubt Cupid, but I tend to think,

I’ll pray this terse verse fans a flame.

Turbotax

Doing my tax, cannot relax

must answer questions honestly.

My “No” or “Yes” can’t be a guess

or IRS will audit me.

As I Wake

I wake up every morning

and hear what red pols will do next.

Their stupid laws give me a warning

that they will make all mental wrecks.

It tells me not to vote for them

for they are daft and brainless men.

Anger {Haiku]

The future belongs

to those who will endeavor

to rout their anger.

State of the Union Address

I hope all heard Joe Biden’s speech.

He told us what he’s done for us.

He told us what he’ll do for each

and told us why they are a must.

Too bad some from the GOP

found it hard to stay awake.

Some red pols attacked without cause

but were just those who bellyache.

{Let us accept the Biden plans...

let grumblers be the also-rans.}

Climate Change

What is happening in the seas

on land, in air. Man is guilty!

Flora and fauna already die

and humankind delays blindly.

We best find a practical plan

or this may be the end of Man.

Mail to the Editor

I read the letters every day.

They tell me how my neighbors feel.

I don’t agree on all they say,

but know their comments should be real.

For years, I was with GOP

until they seemed to lie and cheat.

Now independence is for me.

{Some mail brings pale.

some my thoughts treat}.

Water {Tercet Haiku}

Control our water!

Does not mean must build more homes...

which will bode more groans.

 My Progeny

My greatest fear as I now age

is progeny may their State leave.

No longer will I be their sage

to help them when they grieve.

All kin own, The Saga of Jim...

poems to guide them, when life’s dim.

The Saga helps cure many ills,

but best use God to stir their wills.
