Current Events-Florida

Bless the State of Florida

At last some pols have sense…
they redefined the dole.
They will not pay for drugs
obtained from Mexico.

They who must have weed,
to help them cope with life,
must seek a legal cure
to help them with their strife.

If on the dole, best pass the test
to prove you are drug-free.
If you fail, you lose coattail,
and henceforth pay Life’s fee.

Current Events-Tayvon Martin

When a youth dies we all lament,
but should not pent up anger vent.
Justice is blind, that’s its credo,
and very oft deemed way too slow.
It seems the jury in this case
is clearly not with justice chaste.
It’s but a mob, and not of peers,
and most credentials in arrears.
It has become a time to chant…
when truth is known…who will recant?
It’s not the time to vent our spleen
on every act deemed to demean.
It’s time to let the facts present
what had happened…and intent.
I can not say who’s right or wrong,
justice alone will quell the throng.

Current Events-Illegals

I question when politicos
brag that their techniques work...
for when they say there’s less to fear,
it could be fact or quirk.

Who verifies the data...
from whence does data come?
For if you do not ask the perps,
the poll you cite is dumb.

And if the data’s true,
who’s smarter you or they?
It’s possible you catch so few
because more get away.

Current Events-The Economy

The cost of living tends to rise.
The Feds keep interest low.
How the middle class survives
I’d really like to know.
The banks ask for a handout
and pay me but a whit.
They take my dough
and don’t you know
they make a mint from it.
So Feds don’t raise my tax
you made my cash erode.
What’s left of my greenbacks
was flushed down the commode.

Current Events-The Speech

I do not like to receive text
upon my telephone.
E-mails often leave me vexed…
all sense of tone is blown.
If I ever watch a speech,
though speaker well rehearsed,
I watch him try not to impeach
that which he has disbursed.
Impeachment by his movements…
impeachment if he too long pause…
impeachment when what’s ardent
is said for just applause.
I listen, but heed each body sign,
for hearts oft bare what minds consign,
and words expressed with fever and force
the eyes or pose may redefine.

Current Events-Pink Slime

I ask of you USDA
please learn to do your job.
Do you even have a say
what on our food crooks daub?
If I go to buy a steak,
I trust it is good meat,
If someone dyes it,
or compromise it,
I’d say the man’s a cheat.
Don’t merely say It should not hurt,
when frankly you don’t know.
Best keep in mind whose health you flirt
are those who pay your dough.
At very least, food modified
should state it is but surrogate,
and clearly is not be bona fide
as something you once ate.

Current Events-Fraud

Mortgage Fraud

Paige Kinney duped her fellow man
and now will go to jail.
She and minions stole vast millions
and spent most without fail.
Fifteen years she’ll cool her heels
till she can raise veiled loot.
Her restitution brings no solution
to those left destitute.
Return back all...and then some more
should be that she repay.
Remember justice to be just
must all the pain allay.

Despots

It matters not your strength of arms,
nor tools used to enslave,
freedom’s spirit, when aroused,
can form tsunami’s potent wave.

Current Events-The News

Like carnivores upon the gnus
reporters leap upon the news.
So quickly is it shred and spread,
truth is ensconced in residues.

Current Events-OP-ED

Analysts and your minions
drench all with your opinions.
You waste your time to dote
on those who rarely vote.
Those who do heed naught from you...
we've long learned sift the truth from pooh.

Current Events-The Primaries

The candidate who wins most votes
when all states have been counted,
should take to heart what foes promote
in challenges they mounted.
Let votes they earned enlighten you
of what your platform lacks,
that's where the foremost contest
your foe will mount attacks.
