The Laureate-McConnell at the Senate's Gate

McConnell at our Senate’s Gate

The Spartans at Thermopylae,
Horatius' clash upon Rome's bridge,
fought lethal foes for their country
so freedom would not be hostage.

They’re heroes now within Time’s lore.
But, the Red Pol at Senate’s gate
earns now, from us, intense rancor...
behind his gate good laws stagnate.

             {More Nero, than hero!}
