Current Events-The Speech

I do not like to receive text
upon my telephone.
E-mails often leave me vexed…
all sense of tone is blown.
If I ever watch a speech,
though speaker well rehearsed,
I watch him try not to impeach
that which he has disbursed.
Impeachment by his movements…
impeachment if he too long pause…
impeachment when what’s ardent
is said for just applause.
I listen, but heed each body sign,
for hearts oft bare what minds consign,
and words expressed with fever and force
the eyes or pose may redefine.
