When you pull the trigger

you may have ended many lives.

A concept anger will not figure

if any kith or kin survives.

Both families will pay the price...

the law must judge your sacrifice.

 

Parents, Shun Guns

 

You should not buy a teen a gun

and tell him of your bias.

You may just lose a son

if he senses life is amiss.

They oft remember the bullies,

or girls that treated them quite bad.

They might that weapon seize,

and end all lives that made them sad.

Protect your birthright.

Candidates must never blight...

or ballots best smite.

 

Mother’s Day

The second Sunday of each May

we return the love mother gave.

We know that where we are today

is a result of paths she’d pave.

sin can stir His wrath.

 

Letters in the Paper

I read my neighbors’ words each day.

I need to know what they must say.

The subjects are oft manifold.

I read them if they praise or scold.

I do not care if I concur...

from Red or Blue, what they do stir.

Though oft they don’t agree with me,

some may influence my country.

 

Education

Our children are our future…

provide for all a niche.

If college is too costly,

who’ll lead are but the rich.
