To Congress

(Egypt, Syria, Afghanistan...et al)

Don’t give our money freely,

when known not who receives.

You could give to honest men,

and it end up with thieves.

How many lessens do you need

before the truth sinks in?

You may just succor enemies

regardless who may win.

Paparazzi!  Pictures

of those who earn acclaim

are socially accepted

as fee due for their fame.

But their children, friends or kin

are morally exempt...

and, if one pic disrupts their lives,

you’ve earned from all contempt.

Overcrowded Jails

Too many druggies fill our jails,

we’re running out of space.

If we let some go, he rails,

it lessens that disgrace.

Since some don’t really use that much,

and should not bed with crooks,

it would be a tender touch

to modify the legal books.

But, many oft repeat the act...

if freed, they’ll search for funds.

If no one gives them what they lack,

I fear they’ll morph to perps with guns.

seems She is in a snit.

make us survive on innate grit.

August

August has no holidays,

the only month without.

I guess we’ve had so many

all fireworks were blown out.

But, that is when I lounge or play

in forests, peaks or beaches.

I’m careful though, to stay away

from skeeters, bears or leeches.
