Overcrowded Jails

Too many
druggies fill our jails,
we’re
running out of space.
If we let
some go, he rails,
it lessens
that disgrace.
Since some
don’t really use that much,
and should
not bed with crooks,
it would
be a tender touch
to modify
the legal books.
But,
many oft repeat the act...
if
freed, they’ll search for funds.
If
no one gives them what they lack,
I
fear they’ll morph to perps with guns.
