The Laureate-The Trial

The Trial

I listen and what worries me
are the lies I sense some speak.
If those who swear do not fear God,
how can our courts the truth e’er seek.

Think of what the lawyers say,
“Plead innocent till proven wrong.”
But when you die, can’t rectify
the lies decedents bear lifelong.
{“Guilty” from peers...truth perseveres.}
