Headstones!
Aligned just like an army
that faced a foe skirmish lost,
and what is written is so brief
war won or lost they bore the cost.
The artist, author, architect
may bare their soul to view,
but only if the audience
can assay what is true.
You can’t depend on history...
it’s obvious it can be bought.
Pray they who are your progeny
make not your life be lived for
naught.
