What Muse to Choose
What Muses would you choose
as coaches through your life?
if all but one should lose,
who could lead you past all strife?
In truth you need all nine.
For tragedy and history
oft leave good wit behind...
and wit can salve most misery.
But, wisdom shares all nine.
So best you gather all,
to let their gifts entwine,
and pray that will all ills forestall.
