The Economy

The cost of living tends to rise...

Feds try to keep the interest low.

Just how the Middle Class survives

I would really like to know.

Banks ask us for our dough

but pay to us a whit.

Yet we all know

they make it grow

and earn a mint from it.

Peace {Triplet Haiku}

Listen to birds sing

and absorb the calm they bring...

feel the peace waxing.

GOP, You Anger Me

Illegal laws by GOP

that want to stop a vote from me

make me feel I should react

and fill their lives with misery.

Prose or Poetry

Read first-class books or poetry

and let your mind flow free.

You’ll find your mind has more control

than cinemas or on TV.

{For you can be the superstar...

your psyche may be a memoir.}

The Lawyer and the Physicist

On a flight to settle the plight

my company sent me to fix,

a lawyer next to me in flight,

said many cases won with tricks.

He said that I was lucky

most scientists are rarely wrong.

I told him that good facts are key

and oft the search takes very long.

{Attorneys are known to lie...

I’d rather be an honest guy.}

Triplet Haiku {Parents}

Parents! Teach children!

Let them know why, how and when...

knowledge builds their ken.

Korean War {The Navy}

Some ask about my Navy past

from times ensnarled in life's morass.

It is now soupcons, broken shards

upon the seas of my life cast.

Is there any afterglow

in Navy life from years ago?

Do I remember my good friends

who faced same fears where e'er I'd go?

I first thought not...my mind disclosed

that door to past was never closed.

They are now treasured memories

to permeate my reveries.

They oft are filled with deep nadirs,

but like the sun and tides and moon

I quickly find to quench all fears.

Those lessons show I best attune.
