Marriage
A marriage can be fantastic
if neither tries to dominate.
If both try hard when strife is thick
each will listen to their mate.
{Both made a vow when they were wed,
now find a way to face each dread.}
Right to Vote
All legal US
citizens
were told they’re free
to cast a vote.
There are politicians
we must now name
and note.
They want their own
party to win.
Most laws they
pass bring rest chagrin.
Those acts are illegal,
a Constitution
betrayal.
{Those pols must
lose their seat
and rebuke should
be complete.}
Mother Nature
Nature is an awful
mother,
frequently does
not do things right.
She would not make
a decent lover,
too often she just
brings us plight.
She gives us rain
that cause a flood.
High winds destroy
protective trees.
With mental skills
she is a dud...
and winter’s
freeze will never please.
{It is time that
we replace her,
then we can stifle
our anger.}
A Valentine’s Thought
Oh Eros, your arrows must fly to her
true,
and my passion for her contain.
The first sight she sees as barb
breaks through
must will her this ardent swain.
A shaft sent awry, if someone’s
nearby,
could send her love off to another.
A gaze at a mirror with someone else
near her
and she might just wed her
half-brother.
This worry, I think, could drive me to
drink…
I have no control where you aim.
The stupid doubt Cupid, but I tend to
think,
I’ll pray this terse verse fans a
flame.
State of the Union Address
I hope all heard
Joe Biden’s speech.
He told us what
he’s done for us.
He told us what he’ll
do for each
and told us why
they are a must.
Too bad some from
the GOP
found it hard to
stay awake.
Some red pols
attacked without cause
but were just
those who bellyache.
{Let us accept the
Biden plans...
let grumblers be
the also-rans.}
