Joe Biden’s talk was excellent,

and what he said was salient.

Few red pols applauded and rose...

for most he said they do oppose.

If pols had time to warm their seat,

there is no mystery.

If yes-men do not comfort you

Trump-This is Afghanistan

 

A nation filled with rival clans

who serve those with the highest pay.

Its exports are the poppy plant's

drug that can cruel death purvey.

 

For seventeen years we've fought a war

and watched our heroes fight and die,

while their leaders gave our dough

to those on whom we can't rely.

 

Leave, then stop the flow of drugs

and never again befriend the thugs.

 

Trump’s Think Tank

Trump’s developing a think tank

that will mirror the GOP.

The wonderful words of his plank

we at this moment fail to see.

 

Eighty million contributions

have sent him on the current course.

He’ll doubtless find same solutions

he used his proud boys to enforce.

If police must deploy

with a crime in progress,

they know pressure starts to buoy,

and any fear they must suppress.

 

Though who they face are large and mean,

and the danger is apparent,

and felons may relent.

Politicos Unite!

I never thought it could happen…

politicos unite!

Republicans and Democrats

at last do what’s deemed right!

The president and congress

together in one cause,

and when time came to cast a vote…

not even one short pause!

They solved our every problem

with hardly one harsh word

and not a whiff of pork

when all states’ pots were stirred.

 

But then, it didn’t happen.

It was but my heart’s theme...

for when I heard the morning news,

I knew ‘twas but a dream.

We dare not lose and thought the fool.

We’re taught to win must be the rule.

Yet, every joust, though won or lost,

becomes for us another tool.
