The Laureate-Philosophers

So many propositions cast...
so many that have failed to last.
The practical man adjusts, moves on
to face the future...not the past.

The Laureate-The Truth

The media fills the ether...
take care what you ingest.
You’re best to taste but soupcons,
and shuck from them what’s best.
Separate the hype and lies...
you cannot glean from them true facts.
Shun salesmen and politicos
for most of them have ethics lax.

{And when the Feds say, worry not,
know they ofttimes stretch the truth a lot.}

The Laureate-The Scientist

In truth, he’s but an engineer
who quests unknowns till answer’s clear.
Few laws, in truth, are ever exact
til one unravels factors lacked...
and, once deficient, now cohere.

The Laureate-The Debt

You cannot thank all those who helped,
you know not who they are.
But if you soothe the next in pain,
the balm could spread afar.

The Laureate-Public Defenders

They must all best represent.
The will to win be evident.
But if the facts prove him the perp,
find but for him best consequent.

{Our God don’t check lost-won percent.}

The Laureate-Mankind

What will we leave our progeny
that they survive this century?
More wars, mayhem, hunger and thirst
in memories will leave us cursed.
To solve our problems here and now,
we must God's law to them endow,
what Man till now misunderstood,
that all must share in brotherhood.

The Laureate-Hard Times?

The times are tough; the outlook blue?
Heed the lessons surrounding you.
The sun, the moon, the tides that flow
all clear nadir and rise anew.

The Laureate-Donald Trump

Those who vie for President
fail to see what’s evident.
Trump has gained the public’s ear
and rather than scoff, sense his content.

The Laureate-Virga

Virga…

the rain that falls, but naught received…
like truths oft loosed, but not believed…
like ecstasy that fired your soul
‘till thoughts within perturbed your goal.

Learn from the plight of Tantalus
and stress impressed on Sisyphus.
They never reach their end of quest,
because their Kismet was transgressed.
