A second ship in trouble...
cruise lines rethink you craft!
A liner without power
is just a freaking raft.

Current Events-Bad News
Those who read the paper,
or watch news on tv,
know good reporters submit facts…
not blather carelessly.
Commentators analyze…
their views are but their own.
Too often they will vend as truth
false seeds that are home grown.
Reporters and the analysts
will often get confused.
They drift into the others field
and produce badly bruised.

Current Events-Big Pockets
Harassment is indeed a crime…
on that we all agree.
But judge please penalize the perp…
don’t toss his cost to me.

Current Events-Last Debate
I listened to last night’s debate…
listened, absorbed, pondered weighed.
The media now tells us all
those who earned an accolade.
If you did not same thoughts applaud
vote for whom you chose to laud.

Current Events-Lies
The Supreme Court must now decide
what constitutes a bare-faced lie.
And those, if said, would justify
to in the First Amendment hide.
Seems phony hero claimed his fame
through lies our precious ethos strain.
If that is sin, if profits reap,
our merchants would in jail cells heap.
So honored Judge, we know your plight.
Free speech is dear to us.
Don’t take from us one syllable,
but guard us all from lust.

Current Events-Russia
Putin would again be boss,
and now says we wish them chaos.
We freely gave them aid to mend
when USSR was at its end.
Best never again put pen to check,
regardless if they plead like heck,
'til leaders cease to double-cross.

Current Events-My Vote
The G.O.P. soon asks my
vote
on whom I would elect.
I’ve little time I can
devote
to make my choice
correct.
Takes time to ply through
all the mud
all candidates have
thrown,
and try to sort through
all the crud
for which all must atone.
At this point I don’t
care
my choice can beat the
Prez…
I tell the rest out there
I like what my pick says.

Current Events-Gallop Polls
They call to ask how I will vote...
I rarely deign respond.
My vote I opt keep secret,
not bare it here and yon.
For polls can tend to prejudice,
and grave decisions taint,
should many people hedge when asked
you deem they're where they ain't.

Current Events-Our Ills
Our country
has so many ills
our leaders
need to solve…
lost jobs and
foreign enmity
are two they
should resolve.
But, take a
look at laws they muse
that they
would pass this day…
who can
abort, what athletes snort
and marriage
by the gays.
Reflect upon our land’s blue laws…
those canons fired demand your pause.
Not obsolete...they merely rest,
and free men feared what brings guffaws.

Current Events-The Constitution
Forefathers were quite careful
to keep brushwood apart.
If one Branch can control us,
fierce fires may then fast start.
The Legislature must earn votes...
Executives likewise.
But they then choose who judges,
and there our problem lies.
The red and blue would have their due,
and balance tilts and sways...
and through it all they will not call
we judge their dossiers.
to keep brushwood apart.

Current Events-Pro Sports
Would that you could tell me why
we do with local team ally,
when most who do now serve that corps
have little note of customs nigh.
(I still bet on the home team)

Current Events-My Candidates
I often vote
Republican,
their platforms more
appeal.
If Mitt and Newt just
wear foul mud,
no handshake is
ideal.
I’d rather judge
where they diverge
and make worse that
which ails.
I must decide whose
plan best serves
to exacerbate travails.
It matters not who
sponsors them
for some threw mud
before.
Who wait to see who
leads the race
can’t be my
troubadour
